How Could You?
Written by Shy Davis

How could you sit there and say you didn't know I liked you?
When all this time I was trying to be a wife to you.
Always there when you needed me.
You placed your trust in me.
                            Always confiding in me.

How could you say you didn't know I liked you?
Was it because I looked away if our gazes were held for too long?
That's because I didn't want you raise the fire I already have for you.

How could you say you didn't know I liked you?
Was it because I intentionally made sure to never be too close to you?
When all I wanted was to just be next to you.

How could you say you didn't know I liked you?
Your voice, your smile, your laughter,
touching a part of me that I don't even know still existed.

How could you say you didn't know I liked you?
What about that time we took a nap together and you somehow ended up in my mouth.
Where do you think that instantaneous fire comes from?
It may seem to be buried deep, but with one look, I'm all yours to keep.

I'm sorry:
That you prefer a cute, slim melanin facade.
That I may be too 'out there' for you.
That I'm too free spirited for you.

How could you say you didn't know I liked you?

Fuck it! I isn't sorry.

I'm just not the one for you.
