Great Ladies is the third prompt-driven Anthology commissioned by
Starklight Press. It was published to honor the 2016 Mother's Day and it was
subtitled Women Who Changed History. I was assigned Joan of Arc
and at first I almost turned it down. Before doing that, I decided to watch the
movie. The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc was quite well done, but it
raised some questions in my mind. I then read Mark Twain's novel about her as
well as some historical accounts. Somehow, a new angle of approaching the story
grew out of that and I guess it worked out all right because my story got
accepted. Many thanks to Toby Stark for giving me the opportunity once again.
